Talking about.. Dry Skin
Dry skin (xerosis) is a condition in which normally elastic and well moisturised skin loses its water content (even by 20-25%), a phenomenon known as transepidermal water loss (TEWL). This loss of skin moisturisation causes a condition of “distress”, itching and reddening with a feeling of “taught skin”. It is also evident that focus on sensitive skin becomes increasingly important especially in winter because the cold facilitates dehydration of the skin.
Other factors that can aggravate the condition of xerosis are age, the use of aggressive detergents and intake of certain types of drugs.
